Kids from Arlington homes make butterfly gardens.This month, kids who live in Arlington homes can participate in several fun outdoor activities in the city’s parks. All DC metro home owners are invited. Come for a scavenger hunt on Saturday, July 9th. The event will take place at Long Branch Nature Center at Glencarlyn Park from 4 to 5 p.m. Kids ages six to 12 are welcome to come and look for the signs of summer. Bring along a camera or smartphone to snap selfies with your finds. Stick around for the evening campfire from 7 to 8 p.m. Sing songs, meet interesting animals, play games, and enjoy s’mores. DC Metro Home Owners are Invited for Educational Activities

Budding entomologists won’t want to miss the Bug and Butterfly Festival on Friday, July 22nd. The 4H Club will lead activities from 6 to 8 p.m at Bon Air Park. Kids who attend will be able to attract butterflies to Arlington homes by creating butterfly garden starter kits. There will also be fun insect crafts to make.
