People living in Fairfax homes have a great opportunity to come together as a community and enjoy a day of great food, drinks, and live music. The Derby-Q Festival will be held Saturday, May 7th from 2 to 7 p.m. in Old Town Square. Ten local breweries will be at the festival, including Port City Brewing Co., Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, and Brothers Craft Brewing. DC metro home owners who enjoy whiskey at one of two tasting times with the Scotch whiskey man, Dougie Wylie. Take a masterclass in enjoying the unique spirit by sampling the best of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Come hungry and try the barbecue offerings from the festival vendors.
Two blues bands will perform at the festival. Hear the Moonshine Society from 2 to 4:30 p.m. They were voted one of “DC’s Top 4 Favorite Bands for the last three years by the Washington Area Music Association. From 4:30 to 7 p.m., hear Clarence “Bluesman” Turner, who won the DC Blues Challenge and The Blue Ridge Blues.

The highpoint of the festival is the Kentucky Derby, which will be shown on big screen TVs in the square. Enjoy the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” with friends from Fairfax homes.
